YouTube Gay Couples and Authenticity

I start to question the authenticity of some gay couples on YouTube when they begin to heavily monetize their streams. When you have a "manager" and start peddling merchandise, the shark is jumped in my book. Albeit nice eye candy, and appear to be living the "A " gay dream life in Ft. Lauderdale. It would be interesting to see how they handle subscribers that approach them in person while shopping at Publix etc

I sense the followers are like those people who call into home shopping network to talk to their favorite live on air personalities. Living vicariously through others based on carefully manufactured online presence with the ultimate goal of revenue generation supported by people of limited financial means.

The world of social media influencing is definitely an odd one. I think couple and family channels are weirder still because it's people making a living from just recording a sanitised version of their life and uploading it to the internet.

I don't really understand what fans get out of it. I think they're probably quite lonely and they get something out of feeling involved in a community.

In some ways I don't blame the influencers as much as the audience. I wouldn't give a penny towards any of those sorts of channels and I can't understand why anyone would. But if they're stupid enough to do it, then of course people will be ready and waiting to capitalise on that stupidity.

I only pay for whores who put out. No cash for these clunkers!

That's what all these online grifters do. And so many poor suckers fall for it.

These two are the most tiresome gays on TikTok, and THAT is saying something. The affected way they talk, the fact they are twins, and they are mind-numbingly boring with really two emotional modes, slightly peeved, and 1000 yard stare. Insufferable.

I also prefer the slow one. I find him likeable.

The other one is majorly basic and seems to the the monetization driver.
