There was a thread on this about 10 years ago, someone in the DL recommended this. Great movie! I liked they didn't have a definitive idea if heaven exists or if the lead character was deluded. I've never had expectations on Mimi Rogers, but she was great esp. her confession to the cop toward the end. Too bad it didn't get a better release, although I don't know how an audience would respond to that downbeat ending.

Yes it was great I loved it . Very under seen IMO.

Thanks for the rec, OP. Never seen it, but I have always been morbidly fascinated the subject as a storytelling conceit - strangely, as my chosen faith has no known Armageddon prophecy and no Creation myth either (Neocon Paganism - yes, like in that one X-Files episode).

Have you see the LEFT BEHIND movie franchise, by DL fave Kirk Cameron? Those have similar camp factor, and run all the way with the world-ending bullhinky. I can’t forget the one film where the lead ran into some fire-breathing Pharisees...🙈

Someone should make a film about how fucking fantastic life would be if these people FINALLY got raptured.

Could you imagine if they did? Heaven on earth, finally. M

The bummer is that none of them will ever get raptured, because they fail to act like the Christians Jesus Christ challenged them to be, rather than acting like the Christians whom are Christians according to how their greedy, mega-church pastors, tell them to be, as they intentionally misinterpret what Jesus Christ said forthwith own interests, specifically those of profits and power.

Maybe my memory really has finally turned to pudding, but istg that back in my bandom/popslash teen groupie years I cherished a fanfic about the Rapture written from the perspective of *NSYNC.

Just tried searching for it on Wayback Machine but I can’t find it right now. Hope it’s still around somewhere, as I remember it being impressive at the time (meaning it’s passably good, through the eyes of Now).

Damn, this is going to bug me for days.

Gay actor Tab Hunter was producing a TV movie starring Mimi Rodgers years ago and he did not like her at all. She was a difficult cunt who simply phoned her performance in.
