Route 6 was blocked in Carmel after a downed tree at Willow Spur in an incident reported at 6:30 p.m.
Both lanes of Route 22 just north of I-684 reopened after being closed because of flooding in the early evening.
Flash flooding is also possible during the day and evening on Wednesday with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain.
Residents are warned to move to move to higher ground and to avoid roads that are covered with water when flooding occurs. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles — turn around, don't drown, the weather service warns.
The line of strong thunderstorms is bring torrential rainfall, the weather service said. The storms are moving east at 15 mph into Fairfield County from Northern Westchester.
Wind gusts of up to 50 mph are possible.
The heavy rainfall will cause localized flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways.
