There was an episode of Dick Cavett where he asked her what she does to let her hair down, as she responded by saying "I take it off" and took off her wig.

There was an episode of "What's My Line," where Dick Cavett was on the panel and guessed the mystery guest and the mystery guest didn't know who he was.

Carol is a national treasure. Wish I were old enough to have seen her show's original run! Her wig-maker gets a credit at the end of her show. That Eunice Harper wig is hilarious! Too bad Carol had that chin implant. She and Barbara Eden are about the same age, 85 or so. I love "I Dream of Jeannie" reruns also.

Her show hasn't aged well, yet occasionally I enjoy watching one of the complete, original-as-broadcast episodes on YouTube, purely for nostalgia.

Something had to take the focus off her face

r13 She talked about her chin implant in her Q&A tour (and other places). She says she had just finished filming Annie (1982) when an oral surgeon told her he could easily augment her chin, which she had always been self-conscious about. Her line in the tour is "I always thought it would be nice for my chin to get wet when it rained."

She was very happy with the results, but a couple of months later, a producer called her back for a re-shoot of part of the “Easy Street” number. "No problem," she said, "but I've had a little work done, so I'm going to look a little different," which they assured her was not going to be an issue.

She was in costume, ready to re-shoot the scene. The director, John Huston, said "OK Carol, we're going to pick up where Miss Hannigan has gone into the office closet and she's now going to emerge from the closet."

"OK," said Carol, "I'm not sure if they told you. I had a little bit of a chin added after we were done filming, so Miss Hannigan is going into the office closet with no chin and come out with a chin."

She said Huston replied, "Well, then, I want you to come out looking...determined!"

There have already been several threads on this OP. Would it have killed you to have done a search before you posted this? Would it? What’s wrong with having a little consideration for others and doing a search first? Would it really have been that hard? Would it? Are you going to be able to give us an honest answer to this? Watching the link at R2 and am now in love with Carol. She's hysterical. I remember her from Annie but never watched her show.

I loved to watch her show on Saturday nights. Tim Conway trying (and succeeding) to make Harvey Korman laugh was the best part of the show.

Absolutely loved this dress on her but thanks to this thread the first thing I though was, "Is that a wig?"
