The American punk rock band, NOFX, is retiring after 40 years on stage, but before doing so, the band is immersed in a world tour to bid farewell to its fans. The WiZink Center will host a concert on 14 May 2024 with 40 hit songs as the culmination of the band’s career.
NOFX is a band that got together in Los Angeles (United States) in 1983 whose name is an abbreviation of "No Fucking Fun", which reflects the group's irreverent and humorous approach to music and life in general. It is made up of the bass player and vocalist Michael "Fat Mike" Burkett, the guitarists Eric Melvin and Aaron "El Hefe" Abeyta and drummer Erik "Smelly" Sandin.
NOFX is known for its energetic style, as well as its sarcastic and satirical lyrics that address a range of social and political issues. It has released many albums over the course of four decades, some of the most notable ones being Punk in Drublic (1994), White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean (1992), Wolves in Wolves' Clothing (2006) or The Decline (1999), an EP famous for consisting of only an 18-minute track.
It has also been a huge success despite having distanced itself from the MTV network, commercial radio and the major record companies from the outset for ideological reasons. Now, it has decided to bid farewell, having left a major mark and a great influence on the international punk culture.
