Jonathan Smith Obituary, Death Cause – Mullins mourns the loss of a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jonathan Thomas Smith, who passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 23. Born at Marion County Medical Center to parents Jason T Smith and Summer L Smith, Jonathan’s vibrant spirit touched the lives of those around him. As we come together to remember him, let us celebrate the joy he brought through fishing, hunting, karaoke, and the pride he took in being an uncle. Jonathan’s journey began at Marion County Medical Center, and from the very start, he embraced life with an adventurous spirit. His love for fishing and hunting allowed him to connect with nature and find solace in the great outdoors. Whether by the water or in the woods, Jonathan found peace and joy in these simple yet profound moments.
Beyond the quiet moments spent in nature, Jonathan’s vibrant personality shone through when he took to the mic for karaoke. His love for singing reflected his exuberance for life and the joy he found in sharing moments of laughter and melody with those around him. Jonathan’s heart swelled with pride in his role as an uncle. His bond with his niece, Bobbi Annabell Sooker, was a testament to the love and warmth he brought to his family. The joy he found in being an uncle enriched the lives of those he cherished.
Jonathan is survived by his parents, Jason and Summer Smith; a sister, Teagan N Smith, married to John Sooker; his niece, Bobbi Annabell Sooker; and an extensive network of family members. Grandparents Jackie and Lynn Smith of Mullins, Connie Smith of Conway, step-grandma Faye Smith (Willis) of Mullins, and great-grandparents Harold and Joyce Phipps of Centenary formed the foundation of love and support that surrounded Jonathan. A service to celebrate Jonathan’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Prior to the service, a visitation period will take place from 2:00-3:00 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall.
