I once had a headshot done by a somewhat renowned NYC photographer. He told me that on a lot of the newscasts, there was dynamic photo-shopping going on. They were following the person's head movements & erasing wrinkles, etc. He used Sam Champion as an example(!), as he had met him in person, and thus knew what he really looked like.

So you probably remember an enhanced version of him from previous telecasts.

Yeah they do that live adjusting on our local HD broadcast here. You can see it if you look real close. I don't think they manually do it... it's like a live filter that comes on only around the eyes and forehead of the talent.

I have acne scars and have had several laser treatments, etc. Last year I tried Belotero filler and people kept telling me how good my skin looked. Up close in the mirror, it looked really good. I had to have head shots taken for work not long afterward and the photos are really bizarre looking to me. I figured it's just what I look like, although the selifies I take look very different to me, more like me. A coworker saw the head shot recently and told me it looks nothing like me. I let the filler wear off and I look like myself again. I think it made me look really weird, and it was a minor modification. I'll never do it again. And on the upside, I'm more comfortable with my real face and its real aging process now.

All I notice when he's on TV is his dozen bracelets. Very distracting.
