Something about his face always looked aged even when he was young. Not like an old man per se, but he never really looked very young in any pictures I've seen.

Thank God he was cast as Indiana Jones instead of Tom Selleck. Selleck was arguably more beautiful and had a certain light charm, but he had none of Ford's gravitas, talent and personality that made for a classic character.

One of the nicest celebrities Ive met. I worked at a resort he stayed for a week in "92, & talked to him daily. He hugged me saying good-bye, and handed me an envelope with $500.00!!! We had some great conversations about life & his movies, which he was happy to talk about. He is was so genuine, didnt like the spotlight. Said the only thing he liked about Hollywood was the $$. I know everyone is all about Indiana Jones and Star Wars, but I loved him in Witness, Working Girl, Frantic and Presumed Innocent. Great performances.

When I was in 8th-9th grade (1981-82), I was part of a clique at my all-girls school that was REALLY "ga-ga" for Harrison Ford. So much so, that we all had raglan baseball shirts (of the same sleeve-color) printed with our names + FORD printed on the back. Melissa Ford, Bridget Ford, Dana Ford, etc. And we wore them PROUDLY on any "free-dress" days at our school. We also wrote 'fan-fiction'....before we even knew what that was. We had a totally goofy round-robin going, titled "The Coal Miner's Daughter Strikes Back on Hanover Street", which served no purpose other than to make us laugh.

Basically has always been a terrible actor, but has screen presence and charisma. He was mostly cast in action films, like Tommy Cruise, and for pretty much the same reasons. I agree that he exuded a fair amount of sex appeal in his prime. (Up and through the 1980s). I doubt that he ever lacked for female companionship when he wanted it.
