I can’t tolerate Michael Shannon anymore after that Nine Perfect Strangers series. He’s just too much weird and ham-fistedness. And he is NOT an easy guy to look at.

John Hillcoat is a grim director. I hope he can lighten up a little for this.

I also hope the series depicts George Jones' insane alcoholic escapades, such as singing entire concerts using a Donald Duck voice, or that time he made one of the members of his backing band drive his newly-purchased ride-on mower hundreds of miles while Jones' limo crawled along behind (with Jones all by himself drinking bourbon in the back seat, the rest of his band crowded into the front).
