r24. I think Banda is the African surname from his biological dad. Just like Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon goes by Lourdes Leon now.

Madonna often referred to him as "David Banda" when he was little (remember when he was her red carpet date at an awards show a few years ago?) which seemed a strange thing for an adoptive mother to call her son if his surname is "Banda." That's why I assumed that his first name is "David Banda." But with Madonna, who the hell knows.
