Chris Brown's Web SiteChris Brown's new album has been praised for its layered power pop. Called Now That You're Fed, it marks Brown's solo debut. It was co-produced by Chris Manning of Jellyfish, and mastered by Chris Bellman, who has worked with The Who, Neil Young and Alanis Morisette.
Brown spends his days working as an award-winning independent filmmaker. His latest film, "Scared New World," won Best Feature at the 2006 Pacific Edge Film Festival. Before launching his solo career, Brown played in a number of Bay Area bands. He can be heard on upcoming releases by Jon Del Arroz, Chris Manning, The Well Wishers and Heidi Jane.
On Now That You're Fed, Brown says he brings his "layered, catchy, sometimes caustic vision to the music world." As well as writing all the album's songs, Brown does all the vocals and plays piano, organ, guitars and electric bass. Ethan Turner joins on drums, Heidi Jane plays violin, Ray Brown handles trumpet, Peter Gillette takes over acoustic bass and Jean Zedlitz plays sax.
