Challenge from Passionate Spirits (Japanese: 熱き闘志たちの挑戦！ A Challenge of Passionate Fighting Spirit!) was a solo event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on sync pairs with the Passionate Spirit theme skill.
During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers V from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. Obtaining 2,000 vouchers would unlock the story area Dana's True Face. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
The player could battle using Geeta & Glimmora, Palmer & Regigigas, Tina & Flareon, Wally & Gallade, or Sidney & Absol to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and Dana & Regice or any unlisted sync pairs with the Passionate Spirit theme skill to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
All sync pairs with the Passionate Spirit theme skill received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def stats when used for this event, with the amount of the bonus varying between areas.
Plot
In the Pasio arena, Dana is accepting challenges from a variety of passionate sync pairs. She soundly defeats Tina, but she is defeated by Palmer. She tells Palmer that she wouldn't have lost in her specialty, Triple Battles, and Palmer says that they should have a Triple Battle the next time they meet. Wally and Sidney are impressed by her strength, but Geeta notices that she is putting on some sort of act. She thinks it's a shame that Dana is wasting her talent by hiding it under a facade, so she challenges Dana to a battle. She warns Dana that Dana won't be able to beat her unless Dana shows her true face, but Dana assures her that there's no need for it. The pair then begin to battle.
After Geeta defeats Dana, she confronts Dana about the act. She asks Dana why she's hiding her fighting spirit and passion for battles, pretending to be someone she's not. Dana starts laughing and drops the act. She explains that she has to play the part of a beautiful and elegant Battle Chatelaine for the sake of the Battle Maison's guests. She's always raring to go all out in battle, but she has to shut those feelings away to help the Maison be successful, and she's frustrated that Geeta came along and got her fired up for a good battle. After thinking about it for a moment, though, she decides that her big sister is going to hear about this regardless, so they may as well have some fun while they're at it. She sends out Regice, Regirock, and Registeel and tells Geeta that she's going to show her what she's really capable of. Geeta apologizes for saying so much, recognizing that Dana is just a little stressed because of her job. She decides to make amends by going all out herself, and the crowd cheers as Geeta and Dana begin to have another battle, holding nothing back.

Trivia
- Out of all solo events that gave reward bonuses to sync pairs, this was the only one that did not give any sync pair a +0.6× reward bonus.
- Dana's individual +0.2× reward bonus in this event is completely redundant, as she would automatically have a +0.2× reward bonus due to having the Passionate Spirit theme skill.
- This event marked Dana's first appearance in a story area outside of her sync pair story since her addition to the game.
