My favorite example of this is Helen Mirren. Today she is held up as the acme of a beautiful older woman, but when she was younger she was considered borderline ugly. People had difficulty buying her as the wife of Harrison Ford for that very reason. And Joan Rivers famously clowned her behind her back after interviewing her on the red carpet ages ago.

Then there is the Cosby/Morgan Freeman mass of pinpoint moles which come with age. Some black women get a weird tubular set of Michelin Man type fat roles horizontally in their necks. Kimora Lee developed that at age 39, but she has had it corrected now.

Face it, we all have things which are genetic and do not do us any favors. Black people have nice thick skin which is not subject to sun damage, much like Italians and Greeks. Some white people have very good genes and hold up pretty well, but many do not.

I think there is huge a difference between slowing down the aging process, either by great luck, effort, or surgeons—and looking your approximate age, but doing it well. I consider the latter to be “aging well.”

R220 Our eyeballs themselves don't shrink as we grow older – they only appear so thanks to sagging skin around the eyes. Asians, Blacks and Latinos experience this problem much later in life due to better skin elasticity.

Aging well could be due to genetics, exercise, a good diet and proper skin care such as using moisturizers.

Lots of people deny getting work done, most of them have had work done. Some play the "Botox, fillers and 'little refinements' don't count" game, as if only a full-on facelift or nose reconstruction is really plastic surgery. It's all plastic surgery. It used to be that the actresses who "miraculously never aged" were the ones who started getting small nips and tucks done in their twenties and carried on with it for the rest of their careers. Bernadette Peters is stunning in person, too. She still has lines and wrinkles, but she has the energy of someone 3 times younger than her. She looks gorgeous and, like someone else said, still very much like herself which is a mistake too many people make. I'm not sure how much of it is actual plastic surgery and how much is the fact that she's always wearing a hat and trying to stay out of the sun. That certainly helps.

My friend, who’s a makeup artists in film told that me Christophe Waltz had a very good lower facelift/ necklift . He looks natural and younger. Men seem to do best with this type of subtle work . They really start to look done and feminine when they touch the upper face and eyes too much . Tom Cruise’s facelift looks good too, now that he’s chilled out on the fat or fillers , as much as he creeps me the hell out .
